The BlackSmith Demo Reel
Creating this demo reel was both fun and rewarding. I’ve always had a passion for audio post-production, and getting to see the final product come together made the process even more fulfilling. I started by designing my title card, which I wanted to reflect the identity of my brand, Glitch Audio. I included my logo along with glitch visuals and matching glitch sound effects to reinforce the theme.
Next, I tackled the Blacksmith Cinematic redesign. It was exciting to build out the soundscape and even create custom Foley to match the visuals. Following that, I moved into audio asset design, nonlinear mixing, and basic implementation for The Blacksmith game segment. This was my favorite part of the process because I was able to test the audio in real-time by playing the game. It was also a very repetitive part—every time I thought it was finished, I’d notice a sound was too loud or too soft during gameplay and had to go back, adjust levels, and test it all over again.
Finally, I wrapped up the reel with a contact card. Like the title card, I wanted to capture the essence of Glitch Audio. While my logo didn’t fit well visually this time, I creatively used footage of a static TV that eventually shuts off to represent the glitch aesthetic.
Overall, this project allowed me to dive deep into sound design, Foley, mixing, and game audio implementation. It was a challenging but incredibly enjoyable experience from start to finish.
