Glitch Audio Audiobook App Business Plan
I recorded and mixed these two audio files recently. The two audio files are poems written and narrated by my mother, Jacqueline Suarez. The “My Son My Air” audio file has an ambiance with wind blowing, water flowing, and birds chirping in the poem's background, and the “Who Am I?” audio file has a cultural drumming chant in the poem's background.
Creation Process
Creating this project was a fun experience because it was the first time my mom recorded any
audio. At first, she was nervous, but once we went through a couple of takes, she started to get
the hang of it. “My Son My Air” is a poem she dedicated and wrote for me, so it was a pleasure
to record and mix it into an audio file we can listen to anytime. I recorded both audio files in my
home studio. The equipment used during the process includes a Macbook Pro laptop, Apollo
Twin Audio interface, Audio-Technica AT2035 mic, Audio-Technica ATH-M30x headphones, and
KRK Rokit 8 monitors. When picking “Who Am I?” we reviewed all her poems and found the one
she was most comfortable reciting. At first, we started recording a different poem, but the
takes weren’t coming out how she wanted, so we did “Who am I?” instead. The DAW used to
record and mix the poems was Logic Pro. I used a website named Pixabay to download free
audio for the background music and ambiance in the two audio files. I used plugins like EQs,
compressors, a mix rack, reverb, and more from the digital slate bundle during the mix. Overall,
I enjoyed the creation process and can’t wait for more in the future.
Glitch Audio Audiobook App
"Everything Audio"
Glitch Audio Audiobooks is an audiobook app that is unique compared to its competition. In
Glitch Audio, we give our authors of poetry a chance to turn their poems into audio files for the
Glitch Audio audiobook app with them performing the poem. We also put background audio to
try to fit the poem's mood. "My Son My Air" and "Who Am I?" are two poems written and
performed by Jacqueline Suarez. These poems display some of the services provided by Glitch
Audio audiobooks: having the poet recite their poems, having me mix their poems, and putting
background music/ambiance in the background of the poem. After mastering these poems,
they will be some of the first poems available to listen to and/or read on the Glitch Audio
audiobook app.
